All across the world, high school students took the PSAT/NMSQT on Wed., Oct. 10. The PSAT is designed to prepare students for the SAT and to give them the opportunity to  qualify for the National Merit Scholarship Program, which offers scholarships to students who took the PSAT and meet certain entry and participation requirements.

The Bears Robotics Team competed for the first time ever in the BEST Robotics Competition on Sat. Oct. 13 at College Park. The Bears competed in three different rounds, themed “Current Events”. Students were charged with the creation of a robot which could collect trash from the ocean, and the design and construction process was not without its challenges.

The annual countywide College Night was held Mon., Oct. 1 at the Lone Star Community Center.  Many students and parents from around the community were present, as well as a variety of colleges from around the nation.
