Varsity Basketball Falls Short to Waller

Playing Waller High School on Tues., Nov. 19 at 7 p.m. there, Montgomery varsity basketball loses 61-51. 

“We could’ve performed better but we had mental errors as a team.”  junior Mateo Moreno said.  

Even though the boys took a loss to Waller, it is only pre-season and district season has yet to begin. 

“I feel good about pre-season. Sophomore Blake Haneline said. I think that the seniors we have are good and we will make playoffs.”   

The teams current record is 4-4 during the preseason. District starts against New Caney on Dec. 10. 

 “I am excited to beat Lake Creek because they are our rivals, Sophomore Hezzy Miregi said.and it’s going to be a big game.”  

There are 9 returning varsity basketball players. Along with 5 new players to complete the varsity team of 2019-2020. 

“We are already in the process of prepping for our next game. Moreno said .We’ve reviewed are plays and have corrected our mistakes through practice.” 

The boys play New Caney at home on Tues., Dec. 10 at 7 pm., come out and support your local bears 

“Go Bears, Haneline said. we are ready to win.”
