Competing against Tomball High School, Bear Soccer played at the Auxiliary Stadium on Fri., Jan. 18.

“Our first half was amazing,” junior and striker Brendan Flanelly said. “We had great passes between our midfielders and strikers to get us into their half of the field.”

The score was 0 – 0 until the last twenty minutes, when Tomball kicked a ball into the net.

“The first goal was just unlucky on our part,” senior Enzo Oliveros said. “The shot was from thirty yards out and they just got lucky our keeper was short.”

Senior Jackson Andrews said the second half of the game was not as promising as he had hoped for.

“The second half is where we fell apart and where they scored all of their goals,” Andrews said

The final score of the game was 1 – 4, with Tomball taking the win.

“Overall, I’m disappointed with the outcome of the game as I know [the team is] too, but, as a team, they fought hard and played pretty well,” head Coach Ramsey Wright said.
Senior Blake Gore said the game, apart from the score, went positively.

“I was pretty bummed about the score, but overall we played good and had fun,” Gore said.
With 14 games left in the season, Andrews said the Bears are staying hopeful to defeat future opponents.

“Our biggest goal this year is just to win games,” senior Bryce Meave said.
